It is very important to choose right household appliances that would combine moderate prices, good quality and value for money. If the choice was right, you would not have to worry about the defects, repairs and refunds. You should better shop with company that is respected not only by customers but its industry peers as well. There are two giants that are regarded as icons of quality in the industry: General Electric and Bosch.

Bosch. At a time when life has rarely been tougher for manufacturers in the developed world, Bosch’s strategy for survival is to break almost all the rules. The German company, a global leader in automotive parts and domestic appliances such as washing machines and vacuum cleaners, is renowned for its high manufacturing standards and its refusal to move down-market and compete on price. The company sells items ranging from industrial machinery to hand tools. Keeping the manufacturing base in the company’s own plant is, the company believes, essential to maintaining the quality of Bosch appliances. It spends 12-15% of its revenue on product development. Bosch also believes it can make its German plants more competitive by changing in working practices. But lately the loyalty among consumers is not so tremendous because it happens that the brand does not stand for quality and Bosch appliances are not that good.

General Electric. Nowadays General Electric encourages their factories to make improvements and innovations in their production processes to stay competitive. Sometimes people write letters to General Electric stating that they may not have much money, but they would like to pay more for a General Electric appliance because they know that it would last for the rest of their lives. Surely, sometimes it happens that somebody complain about some appliances which have defects (do not fit, are not up to usual standard). Or when customers are trying to replace the products, some managers state that it is not their policy to exchange items and it is not their fault.
