Sometimes human places are really artificial and do not bring us that feeling like natural fairy places do. History of Disney World. Walt Disney World Resort is operated by Walt Disney Company. This resort is based in Lake Buena Vista and Bay Lake, Florida. Disney World was opened in 1971. Walt Disney wanted to create larger resort than Disneyland was and started to look for a place in 1951. He decided to choose the place because of the well-developed network of roads.
